Seminar Overview:

Organizations are filled with technical expertise that has been directed to do work. This was in response to the requirements of the information age. The problem is most of these deeply technical and “stove-piped” experts have a fatal flaw, a complete lack of professional/people/business skills.

These are required skills necessary to proper team function. We are talking about communication, presentation, negotiation, and problem solving skills to name a few. The ability to deal with stress and emotions brought on by information exchange between competing ideas which when done right ultimately leads to the fusion of those ideas into something NEW!

In this seminar we will quickly and efficiently look at the dynamics which caused and shaped this critical need. From there we will frame up the concept of the “T” shape worker. We will look at the top of the “T” professional/human/people/business skills needed to give a worker strong top of the “T” skills.

From there we will dig into the bottom of the “T” and look at the pressing need for STEM knowledge through an organization. Finally we will discuss the concepts of self-organization / self-direction and show what the expectations are for team members as well as the requirements for leaders in this model.
